M3 Accounting Services, the national leader in hotel-specific accounting software, operations reporting and business analytics, was recently awarded the opportunity to play a headlining role at a special session of a top-tier hotel industry conference.

The Americas Lodging Investment Summit (“ALIS”) is the leading and largest hotel investment conference in the world. More than 2,400 top industry leaders attended last month’s ALIS in Los Angeles, which featured a new competition this year to recognize and share innovative services, companies and ideas.

The four highest-scoring organizations showcased in a special morning session were: Hilton Worldwide, Banyan Investment Group, Attract China, and M3 Accounting Services. Representatives, including M3’s vice president of sales Scott Watson, were interviewed on stage about how their company’s new and innovative solutions could produce an immediate and direct ROI for hotel investors, owners and operators. Then participants participated in a panel Q&A session.

M3 was selected for its innovative business analytics tool “M3 Link.” While better known for their back-office accounting solutions, which are in place in more than 3,000 properties nationwide, M3 took the opportunity to share about one of their newer product lines. In 1,000 properties nationwide, M3 Link is the industry’s most widely used web-based operations reporting, business intelligence and analytics tool.

Watson shared with the crowd that M3’s solutions have produced five-to-six-digit savings for many customers via efficiencies and reductions in overheads. “The world of hospitality technology has changed,” said Watson. “Regulations have become onerous and compliance is a compulsory obligation. Owners and investors should mandate that technology or software providers be SSAE-16 compliant – otherwise, they are opening themselves up to unnecessary risk, operationally and financially.”

The competition was open to and attended by the “hotel investment community,” defined as: Investor/Owners, Developers, Banks/Lenders, Hotel Chain/Management Company Executives, Architects/Designers, Contractors/Builders/Engineers, Real Estate/Financial Consultants, Financial Advisors, Investment Bankers, Lawyers, Mortgage and Real Estate Brokers, Tourism/Government Officials, and Vacation Ownership Executives.
