Scott Watson of M3 Accounting + Analytics, the national leader in hotel-specific accounting software, operations reporting, and business analytics, will be speaking on “Back Office Software Via the Cloud” at HITEC 2013, the world’s largest hospitality technology show, in Minneapolis, Minn.

Watson, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for M3, will be speaking as part of HITEC’s “TechTalks,” a series of presentations by industry leaders on business technology topics of interest. His 15-minute presentation is set for 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 27 at the conference, to be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

“Cloud computing is rapidly transforming the way we all do business,” Watson said. “There simply isn’t a downside to working through the cloud. We have been driving significant cost savings for our clients by delivering our solutions via our private cloud for over 14 years. We truly were the pioneers in delivering back-office solutions via the cloud.”

That said, Watson and other M3 representatives often find themselves answering plenty of questions about cloud computing from companies that aren’t yet utilizing the technology, and his presentation is designed to answer such questions. As some examples:

  • Is cloud computing safe and secure? (Yes.)
  • Is it expensive to set up? (No.)
  • Is there a limit to how many users can have access? (No.)
  • What happens if your needs change? (Systems run via the cloud can easily be adjusted.)
  • Can information be made available on multiple types of devices? (Yes.)
  • In general, is cloud computing cheaper than other options? (Yes, because there is no need for servers, internal networking resources, or special equipment.)
